.Kjetil Utne (1955) will cycle from Norway to India, a distance of more than 10.000 km, between July and December 2018. The journey goes through the following countries: Norway, Sweden, Latvia,Lithuania. Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Iran, Pakistan and India.
The purpose of the journey is to learn about people’s everyday life, and in particular the lives of children. My mission is to create awareness surrounding children’s rights, including their right to voice their opinion.
Children have a moral, as well as legal, right to participate in governance surrounding any issues that may affect them. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, ratified in 1990, sets out three broad categories of rights all children should enjoy: protection from threats, provision of basic services (like education), and participation in decisions affecting them.
I would like to meet children, young people and adults to learn about the everyday life of people residing along the route from Norway to India.
You are hereby invited to join my journey for a few kilometers on your bike if you please. Feel free to contact me by e-mail
